Guest FAQ

What is Night to Shine?

Night to Shine is a nationwide prom event for teens and adults 14+ with special needs, sponsored by The Tim Tebow Foundation. The goal is to provide an unforgettable prom night experience for our guests and to celebrate the value of life!

Night to Shine provides a red-carpet entrance for guests complete with a friendly welcome from paparazzi, limousine rides, hair and makeup stations, shoe shining areas and, of course, a dance floor.

During Night to Shine 2015, 44 churches, 15,000 volunteers and 7,000 honored guests came together in 26 states and 3 countries to create not just a nationwide event, but a worldwide movement, celebrating people with special needs. Last February, Night to Shine 2016 saw 450% growth, reaching 32,000 honored guests in 201 host churches with 75,000 volunteers. Night to Shine 2017 promises to be the biggest event yet!

This is a night not only for guests to shine, but for churches to shine, for volunteers to shine, and most importantly, for Christ to shine.

Each guest will have the opportunity to get makeup and hair touch-ups from our very own glam squad. They will walk the red carpet as friendly paparazzi snap pictures. They can join others on the dance floor to celebrate! Finally, each guest will receive a crown or tiara because they are all kings and queens.

How are you partnering with The Tim Tebow Foundation?

We consider it an honor to be selected by The Tim Tebow Foundation as a partner for Night to Shine – a worldwide movement. Liquid Church has a heart to serve those in our community with special needs, and the Tim Tebow Foundation shares that passion. We are excited to partner with them and to host this spectacular event. Together, we are changing Valentine’s Day weekend from simply a celebration of love, to a celebration of God’s love for people with special needs.

How has Liquid Church previously served the special needs community?
We consider it a privilege and passion to serve those in our community with special needs. Here’s a look at how we put that passion into action!

We’ve hosted a number of events to serve the special needs community:

Jan 2013 – Winter Carnival

Oct 2013 – Fall Festival

Nov 2014 – Fall Festival

Dec 2014 – Sensory Friendly Christmas Show

Feb 2015-  Night to Shine

Feb 2016 – Night to Shine

July 2016 – Summer Carnival

We also support the Special Olympics and Children’s Specialized Hospital in NJ.

In addition, on Sundays, we include children with special needs in our Liquid Kids and Middle School environments. In fact, Liquid has invested in a full-time Special Needs Inclusion Director and dedicated staff at our campuses to oversee our buddy program, in which we provide one-on-one care and programming for children with special needs during our Sunday church services.

We also offer a parent support group at our Morris County location that meets the third Sunday of every month.

Finally, in 2016 we launched “Parent’s Night Out” hosted on the fourth Friday of each month in Morris County, in which parents of children with special needs can drop of ALL their children for 3-hours of free childcare. It’s a time for parents to rest, rejuvenate, or run errands!
