New York City Relief Bus Hunger and Homelessness 10+ Friday NYC 10

Using retrofitted school buses as mobile resource centers, The Relief Bus serves our homeless brothers and sisters from Newark to New York City, offering hearty food, compassion, and connections to resources that lead to life transformation. The Relief Bus exists to respond to God’s heart for the poor and broken. A long-time partner of Liquid Church, we send volunteers to serve with The Relief Bus at Newark Penn Station on the second and fourth Friday of the month. Sign up here!

Abigail House // Family Promise Hands On 10+ Saturday Morris County 10

Partnered with Christ Church of Rockaway. Abigail House is our Transitional Housing and Case Management Program for those affected by domestic violence. The property consists of 5 spacious and fully-furnished apartments and space for our social work staff to provide case management services for our families. Finding affordable housing in Morris County is just the first of many challenges homeless families face in becoming self-sufficient. Abigail House will allow us to provide safe, affordable and well-maintained apartments for our families in transition, making it possible for them to focus on education, employment, family stability, financial literacy and other critical milestones. Elijah’s Promise Hunger and Homelessness 17+ Monday Middlesex County 15

Food changes lives. That’s the motto of Elijah’s Promise, which not only uses food to alleviate hunger, but empower the poor by providing education and job training for the food industry. Thousands of meals are lovingly prepared and served in Central Jersey each year. Serving times are available throughout the week. Minimum age to volunteer is 17. Serving dates coming soon!

Eric Johnson House Hunger and Homelessness Y Saturday & Sunday Morris County 8

Eric Johnson House is a transitional housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. While the spotlight on the AIDS pandemic has faded over time, the demand for services in NJ has increased. To date, over 220 people have resided in the Eric Johnson House and over 5,000 people have benefited from the community-based, educational programs of parent organization, New Jersey AIDS Services. Liquid volunteers prepare and serve dinner at The Eric Johnson House on the first Saturday and last Sunday of the month. Dates to be released soon. 

Goodwill Rescue Mission Hunger and Homelessness 13+ Sunday Essex County 10

Located in Newark, New Jersey, Goodwill Rescue Mission empowers the poor, homeless, and addicted of Newark to encounter Christ through compassionate care and comprehensive life transformation that meets immediate needs and encourages many to dare to hope for a life of dignity and dedication to being a contributing member of their community. Together we’ll serve a hot meal to the guests and help tidy the dining area. Sign Up Today

Feeding Hands Pantry Hunger and Homelessness N Tuesday Somerset County 20

Feeding Hands Pantry opens its doors every Tuesday to serve and distribute fresh produce, dry and frozen goods, to local families in need. Liquid volunteers assist guests as they collect food from each area and offer prayer support. Sign Up Today

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is committed to fighting hunger in New Jersey, by assisting those in need with food, education and long term solutions. CFB of NJ is committed to reduce hunger and give hope to the community. You can serve with them on Saturday mornings, by sorting and preparing food donations to be distributed in the community. Family Promise Hands on 10+ Weds & Sat Morris County 10

Family Promise of Morris County is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by Morris County families by partnering with other public and private agencies, religious congregations and community volunteers to provide shelter, case management and mentoring services leading to self-sufficiency. Together we’ll partner with this incredible organization for a day of Spring Cleaning! Sign up to assist in the cleaning and organizing of the kitchen and supply room. Garwood Community Outreach Hands on 10+ Saturday Union County 10

Volunteers will assist Garwood senior citizens with some spring cleanup of their yards. This will include raking, mulching, and some planting of flowers.

This outreach is suitable for all ages and is a great opportunity for families, life groups, and service teams to serve together! All we ask is if you can bring a rake if you have one (one will be provided if you don’t) and your amazing servant heart!

Mrs. Wilson’s House Hands on 10+ Saturday Morris County 15

Our mission is to provide compassionate, comprehensive treatment and housing for women who are seeking services for alcoholism, drug addiction, and co-occurring disorders. We strive to provide quality services that facilitate their responsible and successful recovery and re-entry into the community” Volunteers have the opportunity to spring clean at the women’s house: raking leaves, pulling weeds, mulching and planting are a few of the outside activities to restore this beautiful space.
