Tim Lucas is the founder & Lead Pastor of Liquid Church, recently named one of America’s Top 100 Fastest-Growing Churches by Outreach magazine (2018). Pastor Tim started Liquid with a dozen 20-somethings meeting in the basement of a 150-year old church. Since launching in 2007, Liquid has grown to 7 campuses across New Jersey with a vision to “Saturate the State with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” Tim leads the Senior Leadership Team of the church and is responsible for Vision and Preaching.
Each Sunday, over 4,500 people come hear Pastor Tim teach God’s Word and apply biblical truth to modern life. A dynamic communicator, Tim is known for his heart, humor, & creativity! Liquid’s innovative style of ministry has been spotlighted on CNN, FOX News, and The Today Show. A graduate of Wheaton College (IL), Tim & his wife Colleen have two children and love traveling together as a family.
As Executive Pastor, Dave oversees ministry services, central leaders, and is at the forefront of strategic planning at Liquid Church. His desire is to create an environment that enables the high-capacity, big-hearted leaders at Liquid to fulfill the church’s vision to Saturate the State with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A former CPA and CFO of an industrial gas company, Dave is well-suited to his role. He attended Wheaton College in Illinois and has been married to his wife, Lois, for 36 years. Dave loves spending time with his children, Meg, Robby, Kate, and son-in-law Joel. The new apple of his eye is granddaughter Adele!
As Teaching Pastor at Liquid, Nithin works directly with Lead Pastor, Tim Lucas, to assist in the teaching ministry by writing and researching sermon content, as well as materials for Liquid Groups. He is passionate about connecting people to Jesus through the creative teaching of God’s Word, and you can often find Nithin preaching live on Sundays at one of Liquid’s campuses. Previously Nithin served in youth ministry for nearly a decade, and has had the opportunity to preach throughout the U.S. as well as overseas. Follow his thoughts “on preaching, the soul, culture and life” via his blog Sojourn Into Exile. Nithin and his wife Jackie have two amazing children. During his downtime, you can find Nithin hanging out with his family, exploring museums, and places unknown. Other loves include heavy metal and seafood!
Hyo Sil Siegel
CREATIVE ARTS PASTOR
Hyo Sil is passionate about creating environments and opportunities for people to experience and encounter God in a personal way. She loves to champion, equip, and inspire leaders to fully embrace their gifts, serve the local church and see God transform lives. Hyo Sil has been in ministry for over 20 years and prior to Liquid was the Programming Director at Willow Creek Community Church, at their downtown Chicago campus. She is crazy about her boys – husband David, an Environmental Designer at Liquid – and her sons Eli and Geffen.
Kids & Special Needs Pastor
Suzi is passionate about helping kids develop their own faith and giving them the opportunity to BE the church at a young age! She funnels that passion into her role overseeing Liquid Family’s Birth – Middle School programming and Special Needs programming for all ages, across all Liquid Church Campuses. Suzi’s heart for Family and Special Needs programming is personal, as a mom to 3 wonderful kids, including a son with autism and epilepsy. She desires for ALL families to have a place to belong, and for ALL children to be supported in a journey to reach their God-given potential. When Suzi’s not leading the charge at Liquid, she’s helping train members of other churches as they launch Special Needs Ministries. Suzi loves to spend time outdoors, reading, and with her family, including her husband of 20 years!
As Youth Pastor, Jonathan is passionate about teaching and discipling High School and College Students. Serving in youth ministry for over 15 years, he has seen the overwhelming struggles and challenges that our youth face daily. Jonathan has developed a strong passion to see students rise above the many negative influences in their world as they walk into the power of a relationship with Jesus. Jonathan also has a background as a worship leader, which has helped him understand the importance of leading others into God’s presence. As a musician, Jonathan has been fortunate to travel the world “slappin” the bass guitar. In his downtime, he loves nothing more than spending lazy Saturdays watching movies at home with his two sons Isaac and Shilo and beautiful wife, Angela.
Pastor Karen oversees Liquid Groups, Spiritual Care Teams, Marriage Mentoring, and helps connect people to professional counselors. Karen is passionate about helping people know how much Jesus loves them, and equipping the body of Christ to care for one another – to grow and live in community! Karen’s background also includes chapters in teaching and finance. She attended Westminster Seminary and had a practice as a biblical counselor before joining our team at Liquid. Karen loves spending time with her amazing husband of 36-years, Bob. She has two children and two grandchildren. Karen also loves cooking, reading and the outdoors – biking, camping, and the beach!
As Worship Pastor, Clint oversees the Worship Ministry at Liquid Church and is responsible for the vision, direction, and execution of Musical Worship across all our campuses in NJ. His passion is to see people powerfully experience the presence of the Lord through the gift of music. Clint developed a love for music early on in his life which led him to worship ministry in the local church at the age of 13. He received his Bachelors of Music in Guitar Performance From Mcnally Smith College of Music. Clint and his wife, Abby, love making music together and have been singing and leading worship together since the 10th grade. Clint and Abby also love good movies, good food, and good company.
Essex County Campus Pastor
In his Campus Pastor role, Jim is responsible for shepherding the Essex County staff and congregation into more intimate relationships with Jesus Christ. Jim loves opportunities to connect with people and walk alongside them in their faith journeys. Jim previously served as an Associate Pastor in Morris County, where you would often find him praying with people in the lobby. Jim is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity degree at Nyack’s Alliance Theological Seminary. Jim and his beautiful high school sweetheart, Shawna, are the proud (and exhausted!) parents of two lively and loving boys, Caleb and Jonah. In his down time, Jim enjoys spending time in the outdoors, building woodworking projects, slow-cooking meats on his smoker, and watching Penn State football games (WE ARE!)
Middlesex County Campus Pastor
As the Campus Pastor, Ernie is responsible for mentoring and leading the staff at Middlesex County. He began his involvement in ministry during his early teen years. Ernie is passionate about people and seeing them fulfil their God-given purpose. He always finds opportunities to invest in others by encouraging them to grow in their relationship with Jesus. This is his passion. Prior to joining the staff at Liquid, Ernie served in various ministry roles including that of Associate and Lead Pastor. But wait, there’s more! He is also a drummer! His greatest gifts to the church are his wife Pilar, and their two sons, Isaiah and Joshua. Outside of his role as Campus Pastor, Ernie enjoys reading, fishing, and spending time with family.
Monmouth County Campus Pastor
As Campus Pastor, Chris focuses on leading and developing his staff, while shepherding the people of Monmouth County. Prior to his role as Monmouth County Campus Pastor, Chris served as the Middlesex County Campus Pastor, during which he successfully led the campus’ relauch from Edison to our new home at Sayreville War Memorial High School. Chris has also joyfully led and served in adult and children’s small group ministries, participated in numerous community outreaches and assisted in launching a contemporary portable church in Southern Jersey. Chris is passionate about seeing people come to know Jesus and experience life change through Him. Chris has a heart to serve those in need and point people to the love of God. You will often see his wife Judy and their three daughters, Marissa, Jenna and Rachel serving by his side. When they are not serving, you’ll likely find them at one of their favorite places, the Jersey shore. Chris loves the beach, working out and watching movies.
Morris County Campus Pastor
Kayra serves as the Campus Pastor at Liquid’s largest location – its Broadcast Campus in Morris County. Originally from Puerto Rico, Kayra relocated to New Jersey in 2012 with her family in order to secure the best care possible for her son, Andy, who has Down syndrome. Seeing Liquid’s passion to serve those with Special Needs, Kayra and her husband Jose decided to make Liquid their church home. Kayra quickly became an integral part of the Liquid family – she started as a volunteer with Liquid’s Spanish translation team, and by 2014 was on staff in Morris County as the full-time Campus Coordinator overseeing Sunday Service logistics and managing multiple campus teams. She served for 3 years in this position, before transitioning to her current role as Campus Pastor, in which she oversees the entire Morris County campus staff as she leads Liquid’s flagship location.
While Kayra has ministry in her blood – her father previously served as a pastor for a church in Puerto Rico – she also has a background in law. Kayra graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and worked as an attorney for nearly a decade before moving to New Jersey.
Morris County Spiritual Care Pastor
As Spiritual Care Pastor, Cuyler focuses on leading and developing the Morris County campus Associate Pastors to care well for people, including during life events such as weddings, funerals, and baby dedications. Ministry is a family tradition – Cuyler represents the 8th generation of pastors in the Black family. He started serving in youth ministry in the late ’90s, leading programs in churches in Canada and Connecticut before coming to Liquid. He is the author of four off-the-wall Biblical cartoon collections and two children’s books. Cuyler and his beautiful wife Lisa have a son, Xander, who keeps them both busy and happy!
Somerset County Campus Pastor
Jon’s role is to lead and grow the Somerset County Campus – pastoring the people while leading the staff team and overseeing all aspects of campus function and development. Jon loves being with people, hearing their stories, and pointing them to the redemptive love of Jesus. Ministry is in Jon’s blood and he took the example set by his parents and grandfather by helping to launch a church in Indiana and later serving as a volunteer leader at Liquid. Jon also owned a small family business, great preparation for leading and running a campus! Jon and his wife, Cari, have been blessed with 6 beautiful children, 3 of whom they adopted in 2013. Jon loves to watch and play sports and has a special passion for football – more specifically, the Giants!
Union County Garwood Campus Pastor
As Campus Pastor, Keon oversees the spiritual care of volunteers and attendees and is responsible for developing leaders to serve throughout the church. Keon loves to see people grow and develop in their relationship with Jesus Christ and is passionate about welcoming newcomers into the body of Christ. Keon loves encouraging people to recognize all the blessings that come along with being a child of God! As part of his previous church home, Keon served in various leadership roles. Upon coming to Liquid, Keon served in various leadership and volunteer roles. From holding the door as an usher, to serving in Liquid Family and even leading baptism candidates through their journey…all of these opportunities to serve remind him of his own personal need for a Savior. Outside of Liquid, you can find Keon spending time with his wife, Monique and their four children or helping families navigate the home buying process as a realtor. In his spare time, Keon loves to watch military films.
Union County Mountainside Campus Pastor
Scott oversees the staff and teams at our Union County Mountainside Campus, while guiding community involvement, caring for his congregation, and leading Sunday services. Scott is passionate about discipleship, helping individuals and families learn, develop, and connect in a greater way with Christ. Scott’s background includes roles as a youth pastor and church planter. He currently runs a mentoring organization that helps guide and develop young men into strong leaders. A Colorado native, Scott loves the great outdoors – mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding – and the list goes on! Now he loves NJ too – after all, his wife Kaitlin is a Jersey girl.
