Tim Lucas is pastor, speaker, and founder of Liquid Church, one of the fastest-growing churches on the East Coast. Every Sunday, over 3,500 people hear Tim preach at one of Liquid’s NJ campuses. A dynamic communicator, Tim is known for his creative use of story, scripture, and multimedia to communicate life-changing truth.
Tim’s first book “You Married the Wrong Person!” is a fresh take on modern relationships that’s designed to spark candid conversation with single and married adults. The book features Tim’s trademark humor, honesty, and insight. He is a graduate of Wheaton College, where he met his wife Colleen. The couple lives in NJ with their two children, Chase and Del.
As Executive Pastor, Dave oversees ministry services, central leaders, and is at the forefront of strategic planning at Liquid Church. His desire is to create an environment that enables the high-capacity, big-hearted leaders at Liquid to fulfill the church’s vision to Saturate the State with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A former CPA and CFO of an industrial gas company, Dave is well-suited to his role. He attended Wheaton College in Illinois and has been married to his wife, Lois, for 36 years. Dave loves spending time with his children, Meg, Robby, Kate, and son-in-law Joel. The new apple of his eye is granddaughter Adele!
Pastor of Campuses
As part of the executive leadership team at Liquid, Mike is responsible for the primary oversight of all Liquid campuses, while pursuing a vision to double Liquid’s footprint to 12 campuses in the next 5 years. A part of the Liquid family since the beginning, Mike’s sole focus is to lead and build-into our team of Campus Pastors. Mike and his wife Tara were born and still reside in Scotch Plains, NJ with their 3 teenage daughters. A former semi-professional soccer player and avid outdoorsman, he enjoys watching his kids learn about their Heavenly Father, themselves, and others through athletic competition and God’s creation.
As Teaching Pastor at Liquid, Nithin works directly with Lead Pastor, Tim Lucas, to assist in the teaching ministry by writing and researching sermon content, as well as materials for Liquid Groups. He is passionate about connecting people to Jesus through the creative teaching of God’s Word, and you can often find Nithin preaching live on Sundays at one of Liquid’s campuses. Previously Nithin served in youth ministry for nearly a decade, and has had the opportunity to preach throughout the U.S. as well as overseas. Follow his thoughts “on preaching, the soul, culture and life” via his blog Sojourn Into Exile. Nithin and his wife Jackie have two amazing children. During his downtime, you can find Nithin hanging out with his family, exploring museums, and places unknown. Other loves include heavy metal and seafood!
Pastor Karen oversees Liquid Groups, Spiritual Care Teams, Marriage Mentoring, and helps connect people to professional counselors. Karen is passionate about helping people know how much Jesus loves them, and equipping the body of Christ to care for one another – to grow and live in community! Karen’s background also includes chapters in teaching and finance. She attended Westminster Seminary and had a practice as a biblical counselor before joining our team at Liquid. Karen loves spending time with her amazing husband of 36-years, Bob. She has two children and two grandchildren. Karen also loves cooking, reading and the outdoors – biking, camping, and the beach!
Hyo Sil Siegel
Hyo Sil is Liquid’s champion for all things family – from cradle to college. She is passionate about equipping and inspiring next generation leaders. She loves serving the local church and seeing God transform students’ lives. Hyo Sil has been in ministry for over 15 years and prior to Liquid was the Programming Director at Willow Creek Community Church, at their downtown Chicago campus. She is crazy about her boys – husband David, an Environmental Designer at Liquid – and her sons Eli and Geffen, who are both in college.
Creative Arts Pastor
As the Creative Arts Pastor, Ben is responsible for the weekend service, worship experience, video creation, and church online. Ben has a passion for creating and capturing memorable moments designed to bring people closer to Christ. Ben’s background includes chapters in teaching, videography, photography, stage design, radio, reporting and producing. After graduating from MBI in Chicago, he worked in Toronto as a television reporter and producer for Context, a national news program. He later spent a decade crafting compelling services at South Ridge Community Church as the Director of Programming & Media. In 2011, he received a MDiv from Biblical Theological Seminary. Today, Ben blogs about all things media, communications, and creativity at benstapley.info. He lives in beautiful Hunterdon County, NJ with his wife Rose and their lovely daughters, Violet and Scarlet.
Essex County Campus Pastor
As Campus Pastor, Jason leads all areas of Liquid Family Ministry, oversees the Spiritual Care Team, and is responsible for helping Essex County’s Campus leadership team develop thriving service teams. In fact, it’s his passion to develop people in leadership by teaching them how to cultivate and grow teams. Jason’s family has a rich history of ministry, and both Jason’s father and grandfather were pastors. Prior to Liquid, Jason spent several years serving in youth ministry at a South Jersey church. Although he grew up in New Jersey, Jason was born in Massachusetts and has never lost his love for Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox.
Middlesex County Campus Pastor
As Campus Pastor, Cuyler focuses on leading and developing his staff, while shepherding the people of Middlesex County and overseeing local community impact. Ministry is a family tradition – Cuyler represents the 8th generation of pastors in the Black family. He started serving in youth ministry in the late ’90s, leading programs in churches in Ontario, Canada and Connecticut before coming to Liquid. Cuyler is also the founder and creator of Inherit the Mirth, a company dedicated to the lighter side of faith. Cuyler’s products have appeared in Wal-Mart, Target, and Hallmark. He is the author of four cartoon collections and two children’s books. Cuyler and his beautiful wife Lisa have a son Xander who keeps them both busy and happy!
Morris County Campus Director
Grace oversees the staff at Liquid’s largest campus in Morris County, and together her team works to encourage people to take the next step in their relationship with Jesus Christ. She is passionate about caring for the people in her campus, plugging them into community, and helping them come to a deeper knowledge of who they are in Christ. As a true Jersey girl, Grace tries to get down to the Jersey Shore as much as possible. When Summer turns to Fall, she turns her attention to football – she’s a huge fan. Grace and her husband Eric have a rambunctious young daughter named Marley who always keeps life interesting!
Somerset County Campus Pastor
Jon’s role is to lead and grow the Somerset County Campus – pastoring the people while leading the staff team and overseeing all aspects of campus function and development. Jon loves being with people, hearing their stories, and pointing them to the redemptive love of Jesus. Ministry is in Jon’s blood and he took the example set by his parents and grandfather by helping to launch a church in Indiana and later serving as a volunteer leader at Liquid. Jon also owned a small family business, great preparation for leading and running a campus! Jon and his wife, Cari, have been blessed with 6 beautiful children, 3 of whom they adopted in 2013. Jon loves to watch and play sports and has a special passion for football – more specifically, the Giants!
Union County Mountainside Campus Pastor
Scott oversees the staff and teams at our Union County Mountainside Campus, while guiding community involvement, caring for his congregation, and leading Sunday services. Scott is passionate about discipleship, helping individuals and families learn, develop, and connect in a greater way with Christ. Scott’s background includes roles as a youth pastor and church planter. He currently runs a mentoring organization that helps guide and develop young men into strong leaders. A Colorado native, Scott loves the great outdoors – mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding – and the list goes on! Now he loves NJ too – after all, his wife Kaitlin is a Jersey girl.
