Night to Shine

Night To Shine is a prom event designed for teens and adults ages 14+ with special needs. At Liquid Church, it’s our privilege and passion to serve the special needs community - and we look forward to giving our guests the royal treatment at Night To Shine on Friday, February 12, 2027!

Our VIP guests will enjoy a variety of activities at Night To Shine, including a beauty bar and shoe-shining stations, karaoke, dinner, dancing, and more. Best of all, each of our honored guests will enjoy the 1-on-1 care of an assigned “buddy” as their host throughout the evening!

Night to Shine is hosted on Friday, Feb 12, from 6-9pm. Host locations are at our Liquid Church campuses in Parsippany, Princeton, and Mountainside, NJ.

Night To Shine is designed for teens and adults ages 14 and older with special needs. Liquid has extended invitations to a number of groups, organizations, and individuals in our region who have special needs or serve those with special needs. Guest registration opens on Sunday, November 8 at 5pm. Registration fills up fast, so save-the-date!

We look forward to hosting 400 guests at Night To Shine in Parsippany, 130 guests in Princeton, and 75 guests in Mountainside, NJ.

Night To Shine is a guest drop-off event, so after checking in your guest, we encourage you to enjoy planning your own night out during the prom!

Main Dish Options

• Chicken tenders (gluten-free) 
• Tomato basil grilled chicken (gluten-free) 
• Baked ziti (vegetarian)

Side Dish: Options

• Baked macaroni and cheese (vegetarian) 
• Penne marinara (gluten free and vegan) 
• Steamed vegetables (gluten-free and vegan) 

If your guest has a special diet and is bringing their own food or is tube fed, select “NA: Bringing own food” during registration.

Food outside of what is offered during the prom cannot be heated, blended, or otherwise prepared on the premises.

Two weeks before the prom, you’ll receive an email with your Guest’s arrival time. The arrival times are staggered to help alleviate check-in wait time and provide a smoother red carpet experience for your guests.

Please note: The official prom hours are 6-9pm. However, we start check-in earlier so that all guests get to enjoy the full prom experience.

Guest checkout will vary per location. We do not allow parents in the building until all guests are in their proper check-out area. This ensures the safety of our guests.

Pick-up time is officially 9:00PM, though it may be slightly delayed due to the pace at which all the guests return to their pick-up room.

Please note: One Parent or Caretaker will be permitted inside the building at the time of check-out.

NO, Liquid Church does not receive dress or suit donations. However, there are several community organizations that do receive donations, such as:

• Cinderella's Closet of Monmouth County (Freehold, NJ)
• Project Self-Sufficiency Sister to Sister Prom Program (Newton, NJ)
• Becca’s Closet (Monvale and Hackettstown, NJ)
• Dress of Success (Hudson County, NJ)
• Goodwill NYNJ Outlet Store and Donation Center (South Hackensack, NJ)

We do not have a waitlist as we have taken into account possible drop-offs, and calculated that into our guest capacity. We will not be able to add guests once registration is full. However, there are several other amazing churches hosting Night To Shine in NJ. Check out other host sites near you by clicking here.

We pair all guests with their buddies the night of the prom. It’s our best practice not to pre-assign guests with a specific buddy. This includes requests for a particular age, gender, etc.  The evening of prom, after checking your guest in, the buddy pairing will be based on the Guest’s needs and the buddy's experience.

Save-the-date: Volunteer registration for Night To Shine will open on Monday, December 14. We look forward to serving alongside you!

All volunteers at Night To Shine must be ages 14 and up.

The buddy role is a 1:1 buddy-guest role and cannot be paired with additional volunteers.

To serve together at Night To Shine, you must select the same team during registration, with the exception of buddy. All volunteers at Night To Shine must be ages 14 and up.

‍

All volunteers must be on site at their prom location by no later than 5:00pm. 

Please email [email protected] with your request. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate your request, but role or location changes are not guaranteed. If your request is not submitted promptly, you may be offered a different role from what remains available at our locations.

For the safety of all our guests and volunteers at Night To Shine, all volunteers must go through a background check that is less than 5 years old in order to serve. If you do not have a social security number to provide for a background check, please email [email protected].

No, we do not offer a waitlist once volunteer roles are filled. However, you are welcome to check back at LiquidChurch.com/Prom periodically. As schedules change, volunteers may update their availability, which could open up additional volunteer roles.
