10 Worship Songs To Listen To Right Now

Liquid Church
Jul 17, 2020

What worship songs are you listening to right now? In the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives, we can regularly take some time to slow down and give God the praise and honor that He so deserves. At Liquid Church, one of the ways we do this is through worship. Through musical worship, we listen to songs of truth, adoration, and surrender to help us focus our attention on God rather than ourselves or our circumstances. By doing this, we are able to set aside the troubles of this world and worship Him for who He truly is.

At Liquid, we believe that musical worship is a powerful way for every believer to connect with the heart of God. So, it is our joy to share 10 worship songs to listen to right now with you this week! We encourage you to take the time each day to listen to a new song and to make that song the theme for your day. We hope this playlist will inspire your worship in a fresh new way!

As Christians, we have a God that wants us to boldly come before Him (Hebrews 4:16), not only in our prayers but also in our worship of Him. The chorus of “Throne Room” emphasizes this genuine worship and how humbled we become when we come before a holy God. Let this song encourage you to run into His presence — it will leave you filled with awe and wonder!

Loosely inspired by Lamentations 3:22-23, this original song not only praises God for the many ways He redeems us each day, but it also serves as a testimony to artist Amanda Lindsey Cook’s faith despite her open struggles with anxiety and depression. Even in our struggles, God has the power to give us new life. Just like Cook, we hope your spirit will be awakened by this song, too!

As we grow up, we become so used to the idea of independence and doing everything on our own that we often forget to rely on God for anything. This song recaptures the beautiful picture of childlike dependence on our Heavenly Father… the way He created us to be.

During times of stress or anxiety, we can become so caught up in our problems that we lose sight of what matters most to God — spending time in His presence. This song will help you do just that.

Inspired by Matthew 14:22-32 where Jesus calls Peter out onto the water in a step of faith, this worship classic reveals that Jesus’ character will never fail, even when our feet do. It is only in His presence that we will be made stronger in our faith (James 1:2-4). Allow this song to soak into your heart, and let God speak to you while worshiping Him. We hope these lyrics will be your soul’s anthem — “Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders/Let me walk upon the waters wherever you would call me/Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander/And my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.”

Written by singer-songwriters Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Lindsey Cook, this song imagines what it would be like for the Father to call to His children, “Come out of hiding.” And the outro of the song — “Baby, you’re almost home now/Please don’t quit now/You’re almost home to me” — will be sure to connect you to the Father’s heart.

Many worship songs speak of God’s love for us, but none are quite like the award-winning original “Reckless Love.” Based on the Parable of the Lost Sheep in Luke 15:1-7, this song praises God for His unconditional love that never gives up on us, even when we don’t deserve His kindness. Even though you may have listened to the song in church a million times before, we encourage you to take some time to really listen to the lyrics and worship the God that recklessly loves you.

What a great privilege it is to speak with the Creator of the universe! As followers of Christ, we make it a priority to pray to God each day, and He welcomes that. But how many of us let Him speak to us? Instead of hearing God’s voice, we only hear our own words, acting as if prayer is a one-way monologue rather than a two-way conversation. Allow this calming song to create a desire to listen to Him.

Matthew 17:20 says "Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you." In this beautiful new song by the incredible Tasha Cobbs Leonard we are reminded that mountains are still being moved. That even with the tiniest bit of faith, God can make a move in your life. Do you need a move? Listen and let your soul be re-energized by the powerful lyrics of this encouraging, faith-building worship song.

Released just a week before the coronavirus pandemic hit the U.S., “The Blessing” could not have come at a more opportune time. Full of scriptural references, this song declares God’s blessing and protection over His children. In fact, the first verse of the song is taken directly from Numbers 6:24-26, where God revealed the Priestly Blessing benediction to Moses which was to be spoken over the people of Israel in ancient times. Even today, this benediction song is now more relevant than ever. We anticipate that both the powerful words and entrancing melody will soon make this song a new worship favorite among churches.
