Clean Water Cause
At Liquid Church, we have a passion for bringing clean water to the world. It's a basic need: clean water to drink, to cook food, to wash your hands, to bathe, and to clean your clothes. It's essential for good health and hygiene. And yet, access to clean, safe drinking water is still a privilege many don't have.
Right now, 711 million people on the planet still don’t have access to clean, safe, drinking water. To put the clean water crisis in perspective: diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than wars and terrorism combined.
At Liquid Church, clean water is our global cause – and we envision a day when every person on the planet has access to safe drinking water! That’s why we’re committed to sending financial support and manpower to countries around the world.
Bringing CleanWaterto the world
With the help of our global partners, Liquid Church supports clean water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in Africa and Central America. To date, we have drilled 536 clean water wells in 11 nations, bringing clean water to more than 500,000 people. Together, we've donated more than $4 million to the Clean Water Cause!
Clean water has the ability to change lives! It’s the foundation for all other levels of development. Safe water can ultimately transform the health, safety, education, and livelihoods of entire communities. Now, that’s making an impact.
We can't do this without you. Fund a clean water well and impact an entire village. Or, go on a clean water trip and provide the manpower needed to bring a community clean water.
Africa
Liquid Church was brand new with barely enough money to survive Sunday to Sunday when we felt called to the Clean Water Cause. Our first 10 wells were located in Ethiopia. Our journey began in Africa, and we’re still at work there today!
In 2015, Liquid committed to coming alongside the country of Rwanda to help them achieve 100% access to clean water. That commitment started with the donation of a $250,000 high-speed drill rig capable of reaching and drilling in remote villages. Since then, we've completed two WASH programs (water access, sanitation, hygiene) in the Ruhango and Busasamana regions of Rwanda, drilling hundreds of wells, educating local residents about hygiene and health, and building hand-washing stations and latrines for better sanitation.
In 2023, we launched a new committment in Zambia and sent our first clean water team to this Southern African nation. Liquid Church has provided Zambia with its own high-speed drill rig designed to bring clean water to remote villages. Our first WASH program is now underway!
Central America
We sent our Water Warriors - mission trip volunteers - on our first trip to Central America more than 10 years ago and our work continues there today!
As part of our work in Central America, we completed a $500,000 WASH program (water access, sanitation, hygiene) in Nicaragua that included the opening of 81 clean water wells in remote villages. For drill teams in El Salvador we’ve purchased a rock drill rig, mounting trailer, tow truck, and spare parts to make their work possible. Our teams have also served in Honduras and Guatemala – with new Central America trips on the horizon.
It’s a powerful moment to “hit water” and open a new well in a village, providing them with clean water for the first time. But, clean water has no benefit if it’s contaminated after it leaves the pump. So, we also fund and support sanitation and hygiene projects that include the building of latrines and handwashing stations along with education designed to empower entire communities as they learn to prevent disease and keep water safe.
The gift of clean water
Your financial generosity could bring an entire village clean drinking water! $10,000 funds a well in Central America. $20,000 funds a well in Africa. Any amount will aid our ongoing efforts. Thank you in advance for bringing clean water to those who need it most. Generosity changes lives!
