No one is exempt from worry, anxiety, and stress. For some it can seem like an ever present and unrelenting force in our lives.

Why are we so stressed out? At work you may deal with a demanding boss, competitive co-workers, urgent requests, and unceasing obligations. At home you may be juggling all that parenting requires - yes, you have to feed, clothe, and bathe your children! Maybe you’re married or you want to be… either reality can be stressful. Finances, health concerns, unmet expectations, failed relationships, family dynamics can all manifest physical and emotional stress… and the list goes on. So, how can we find peace and rest? Through Jesus!

Jesus does not promise us an easy life that is free of troubles, but He does promise He will never leave us. That means you are never walking through life alone. And, Jesus generously offers us a fresh filling of His peace DAILY. This means, we don’t have to live our lives paralyzed with worry. If you’re looking for relief, we pray that you’ll be encouraged by the Scripture we’ve included below.

10 BIBLE VERSES TO HELP MANAGE STRESS

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? - Matthew 6:25-27

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11: 28-30

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Matthew 6:34

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4: 6-7

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” - James 1: 2-4

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” - Exodus 14:14

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” - Proverbs 3: 5-6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” - 1 Peter 5: 6-7

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” - John 14:27

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” - Psalm 34: 3-8
